Rental Ontario - Canada
Ontario is home to the largest city in Canada, Toronto and is the most culturally diverse of all Canadian provinces. Home to nearly 3 million inhabitants, Ontario shares borderers with the US states of New York, Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota and Pennsylvania. It is named after Lake Ontario, and has more than 250,000 other freshwater lakes within its boundaries. Tourism is a major force in the economy, in a large part because of the famous Niagara Falls, which alone draws 26 million visitors each year.
While most of Ontario’s inhabitants trace their ancestry back to British and European sources, with 11% claiming forefathers from France, immigration from Asia, the Caribbean, India and Latin American countries have added not only a large amount to population totals, but an international flavor to the region. Toronto possesses areas which feature shops, restaurants and communities of distinctly eastern inclinations, such as,’ Little India”, where hot and spicy curries can be found, and the Turkish bazaars are great hunting grounds for ethnic rugs and brassware. During the many yearly festivals, such as the Caribana (West Indian) and Oktoberfest (German).all inhabitants are involved in producing music, arts and cuisine which best represents their own backgrounds and makes up this truly multi-cultural province. Away from Toronto’s fast-paced urban life style, agricultural spreads that produce the fresh fruits and vegetables found in farmer’s markets all over Ontario mix with manufacturing complexes, which account for 52% of Canada’s output.
No visit to Ontario is complete without witnessing the incredible natural spectacle of Niagara Falls, which posses the power to take visitors by surprise, by sheer immensity of size and the power of all the water. Boat trips aboard the famous ,”Maid of the Mist” takes guests close enough to get wet, open between April and October depending on weather conditions. Other popular attractions include visits to the wilderness national parks in the north, and shopping and theater tours in Toronto.
While the winter months can be snowy and cold, below -40°C is not unusual, snow clearing equipment quickly re-opens roads and restores transportation. Ontario’s climate is very similar to that of the Midwestern United States. Summer can be surprisingly warm, sometimes reaching 30°C (86°F), and fall is temperate and long, with the fall leaves turning exquisite colors during the season.
